Echoes of the Past: Royal House of Stone

Fun game, although it's pretty short and not terribly challenging. It is usually really easy to figure out what to do next. It does not have unlimited hints, but you get more than enough to easily finish the game. I had quite a few left over at the end.

need help with the weights in the stairwell, what is the order, anyone???

I need a map. Otherwise it is too confusing to figure out the layout of the castle.

cant find the parts for door under the crypt. Any help?

Cute concept, VERY short, finished it in a few hours. Very easy. Worth the download to play but could be longer.

Enjoyed the game so far.an someone help me with the last ring, it has something to do with the branch. I keep clicking on the branch, turns into the hand but nothing happens. Help

I'm not a big fan of HO games - too many lately - but this one wasn't bad because there weren't too many HO screens to make it boring & tedious. I enjoyed the puzzles - not too hard & I needed no hints to get me through. Some tasks took some thought. Game was a bit short & ended with "to be continued" & no resolution so I docked it a star. But I had fun with it for an afternoon - good time waster. No replay value though. I HATE waiting for continued games!

I agree, there needs to be a map. Also, having collected everything that I need, I can't go out into the garden area. Without the walkthru, I could never do this game. It lacks instructions. But it is a great idea, I'll keep trying.

LOVED IT! the story was intriguing and the voice overs were good. great mix of ho and puzzles. the backround music was very enjoyable and not annoying like in some games. only wish it were longer took me 2 hours this am to get through the whole thing. cant wait for another one

Great HO strategy game, was challenging but not impossible. Good graphics, good storyline, and although you go between scenes it is quick and easy to maneuver round the scenes. Great game!

I really enjoyed this game. It was not too hard and not too easy. I do wonder why game developers don't just give unlimited hints, but this game had sufficient hints if you averaged using one or two per scene and made sure to obtain both of the mirrors in each HO scene. The mini games were usually understandable even without instructions, but clicking on something, anything, usually brought some more information that helped solve them. It was important to read each of the story lines.

A strong HO/adventure game with good graphics and a well paced if predictable plot. The puzzles are all readily solvable with a bit of thought, though on a couple of occasions I did find myself wondering around until I stumbled into the right area for a HO round. I particularly liked the climax of the game, the solution to which was hinted at throughout the game. Overall an excellent game, only just falling short of being a classic.

In answer to the last ring and the branch, there is a saw in the scene that you will pick up to saw off the branch, then you will have the ring. This game is really fun but I need help with the puzzle that has weights. I can't seem to get the right combination. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Love the game, it is fun and challenging. Right now I am stuck on the weights, it wont let me skip, so I have gone back through the game to see if I have missed something, I havent found anything yet. Help or advice would be appreciated

BarbBainum and others with questions about the weights: (spoiler alert) - look at the left side for a little equation and then look at the diagrams on the three places for the weights. There is only one numerical combination that satisfies the equation (you can't get a whole number by dividing an odd number by 2). If that isn't enough of a hint, you may need a walkthrough.

So far I have liked the game. But I must have missed something because I can not seem to get out of the castle. I have not been able to get the last guy released from the curse he is under either.

Babs98 - Had the same issue. I wasn't persistant enough with the barrell. Just keep clicking on it and it will eventually roll away from the door. Loved this game. Very challenging.

been kinda disappointed with all the HO games and not enough TM games but this game was great.hope to get the next one very soon.

Good game, fairly standard HO and puzzles, but I found it too short for the level of difficulty.

I finally finished this game..without the walkthru, I would have never finished at all. As it is "..to be continued...", please add a MAP to the next one. The game deserves a higher rating, but the lack of a map makes it tedious. Please add a map to the next one and I'll give you 5*****.

Excellent Excellent game!! Not having a map was not a problem for me. I really have nothing negative to say about this game except it could have been a little longer. I enjoyed the story line and can't wait till the next one. Bet we get the evil step-mother. muahahaha!

I really liked this game. Fairly simply with a couple of challenging sections to liven it up. Very nice graphics but I wish it was longer. I finished this game in one sitting, 2 hours. Apparently there's gonna be a sequel. Looking forward to it.

Fun way to kill about 2 hours. Not very challenging, but interesting story line that lets you skip through spoken dialogue (quicker to read than listen).

You have to roll the barrel blocking the door to get out of the kitchen -- several times!

my gosh, third try I found the silly arrow. this game rocks. and yes, I'd still like to know what a walk through is.

I didn't enjoy this one. I prefer to figure games out by myself, instead of relying on a walkthrough to hold my hand. This game is ridiculously vague, and the walkthrough was absolutely necessary, so I deleted it.

All this time I have played these games w/o walk thrus. I could not have finished this one w/o. Map would be great. If you finished this in 2 hrs. w/o walk thru, you are really good or lying.

A great game, Shockwave. Please, get the next installment. It's almost too challenging, but there are tips and walkthroughs available elsewhere. It's worth the struggle. There just don't seem to be that many intriguing HO games anymore, but this one is definitely one of them.

I loved this game, although I am now stuck at the very end, with the room flooding and I don't know how to stop it... However, and for those of you who are stuck: there will always be something to click on, something you can interact with... keep reading the book that you use in the game and search for interactive areas. A walk through is unnecessary so long as you are patient. To Abynormal: a walkthrough is a guide that tells you step by step how to complete a game.

I liked this game; it requires more than just a sharp eye to get through it. As another reviewer noted, it would have been great to have a map but fortunately, it didn't take TOO much "walking" to get from place to place.

I like searching for items that move the story along. Makes it more fun. Using a walkthrough helped at 3-4 points that would have been annoying and tedious otherwise.
