Tradewinds Odyssey™

It's a really fun and entertaining game at the beginning... but then later on it gets kind of boring. You have loads of money and can afford basically everything and can do whatever the heck you want to with the market. I love it but... it just doesn't last.

This game is very interesting...I love how you can have a different story with each character

This game is way too easy. It might get boring for awhile in the online version. I'm looking forward for better things in the full version.

The Tradewinds series is one of the best game series I have seen. I am glad Shockwave finally got a new Tradewinds game!

I am a huge fan of the Tradewinds series and was looking forward to this release since I saw the ad for it 3 weeks ago. After downloading an absolutely huge file, and installing an immense amount of data onto the hard drive, I played what has to be the worst in the series. Tradewinds should be a fast paced game of trading and adventure, but this game is extremely slow and lacked the adventure that the name is known for. Uninstalling and waiting for the next that will be worth it...I hope.

Have always been a fan of Tradewinds series. Not the best of what tradewinds have... must agree that it's kinda slow. too many scene change, i.e from map to port, from port to map.... sigh..... lucky thing is that they have fast text.... else I'd probably have given up by now.

I am a huge fan of tradewinds but this one I had trouble from the beginning, script error and than after about 5 minutes of playing a really boring game I received a fatal error. I have now uninstalled it and will not play again.

I'm a huge fan of the Tradewinds series and have played them all multiple times. This version looks like they went back to Tradewinds 2 and changed the names. I didn't even finish the 1-hour free trial at ********. Very disappointing. Oh well, another round of Caravans.

I almost gave this game one star because I have high expectations for the series. I too was waiting eagerly for this newest installment -- in fact I played the trial on another site. WHAT A LET DOWN! This is the WORST game in the series. Even the graphics are terrible. Game play is tedious and boring.

I wasn't quite sure what I was expecting from this game, but whatever it was, I didn't get it. It was very repetitive and got boring quickly...played for 20 minutes and uninstalled. The transitions between the locations took way to long and the only thing that was even remotely interesting was if a pirate showed up and you had to battle.

Tradewinds never had the greatest graphics, but this one is a let-down in graphics and game play. The characters are not as witty, and the conversations are duller than others in the series. The naked athlete had the best dialog, but even that got tiring as a never-ending bad-taste joke. The script is hard to read and the scene changes are tedious. I did learn a little bit more about greek gods, but who cares?

fun up to a point, but terrible graphics. And after all the previous versions I wish they would have totally different stories and quests for each character. It's no different in terms of gamepaly than other versions with ships.

I love the tradewinds series, but this one needs work. I really liked the use of Greek myths, but it wasn't as challenging or interesting as the rest of the series. And I agree with the other reviews about the long scene changes.

Overall, I liked the game. There were too many "loading" screenshots between leaving the city and sailing to the next location. I still really enjoyed this one, even though it was a bit easier than previous Tradewinds in the series.

Best of the Tradewinds games. Clever dialogue, great graphics. Fun to play. HOWEVER, I keep crashing at the mission where I'm taking Zeus up to Eresos while also doing the Ultimate Calimari mission. Anyone else having this problem?

Tkp42, I'm having the exact same problem, keep crashing in the same spot. I finished the calimari mission ok, but when I go to get the "spices," it crashes right after the battle every time.

Me too. Crashes at spices. Wonder if it matters what system you have?? I have Vista... Anyone find a solution for this?

I agree that the constant load screens are tiresome (and ugly) but mostly the game is what you expect from a Tradewinds and I enjoyed it. Playing as Diamonea I encountered a glitch - a mission to see the moneylender in Ephesos only there is no moneylender there. Anyone else get that one?

I enjoyed the game, only thing I didn't like was the load screens all the time.

I have to add to my first review labeling this installment of the Tradewinds games as the WORST!!! I'm sticking by that assessment -- but now I recall that the third game in the series wasn't nearly as good as the first 2! This doesn't bode well for installment 5 -- if there is one...

aundria338 -- I was playing as the priestess character, so I've switched to the minotaur and I haven't crashed yet. The storylines are different, which is fun. I still like the game, though.

At first, I was really disappointed with this Tradewinds installment. I love these games, but I just couldn't get into it. After awhile I did get hooked and I wanted to play until the end.

It was OK and the Minotaur gave me some laughs, but I think ******* could have done much better. I hope the next one will be more entertaining.

I finished this game to the end just because I love the Tradewinds series, but really not a great game. Like everyone else, I hated the load screens! I don't know why a later game in the series would take longer to load screens than the earlier games, but it was driving me crazy.

It could have been better but Tradewinds is at least a breath of fresh air for shockwave. Every time you switch screens (from city to sailing) there is a load screen which may only take a few seconds but is annoying, they would have done better with just a progress bar. Still fun, though

Unfortunately, I found this one the worst in the Tradewinds series. Could be my own fault, I got over ancient greece in high school. Characters were okay, graphics poor, plot pretty good.

After all the reviews, I was expecting an outrageously horrible game. Instead I found an enjoyable Tradewinds game that was highly entertaining in the way it immersed you into Greek myth. I played as the Priestess with no problem and while the loading screen did load everytime, I didnt find it that annoying and wouldnt hate the game because of it. Maybe not the best Tradewinds, but entertaining nonetheless.

As the priestess, I loved seeing how things "really happened" in Greek mythology. Definitely creative. The quests and battles weren't challenging but the storyline was interesting enough to keep me going. The loading screens were annoying, but they gave me time to get something to drink, pet the kitties, etc.
Tip: To save a lot of money, buy Athena's Mercy with cheap olives at the reliquary. Use it at the end of every battle so you don't have to pay a lot for fixing your ships.

This is definitely the worst of the Tradewinds series. There aren't as many products or price variations so it's a lot harder to make money. You can only buy and sell so many olives. The load screen is annoying and the locations aren't as interesting.

I thought the game was fantastic as all of the other Tradewinds games. I don't know why so many people hate it. But in my opinion, this game was great and funny. 5 stars!

Well, it would be fun to some people, buti didnt really like it after i started playing it, I juat didnt get it, but after time i'll probably get it.... You should still try to play it though....:)

I've been playing Tradewinds for a few years, and this is by far my favorite tradewinds game thus far! 5 stars, top notch!

Eh, I found it boring, and it didn't do very good at explaining the point in the game. Some will like it, but I don't.
