Uhhh... All work and no play makes rewsi a slow girl... Haven't been able to install latest update on work machine so no lunch time sudoku for me... Seem to be getting rather out of practise!

Good Saturday afternoon to yours too... Working full time now, so not as much time to come on here these days, but still enjoy the occational visit. Hope winter is receding for the rest of you too - our snow drops are out and looking pretty and the neighbours crocusses are stsrting to appear!

For my part I must say that two jobs, a baby, a husband and a house to keep is keeping me slightly busy. Oh and the pc I'm on at work at the moment won't let me download shockwave player or whatever it is called. Baby is sick today so I'm at home playing while he is sleeping.

Didn't understand 1 down...? and struggled with a few others that didn't immediately spring to mind. Also no idea whar the relation between the final clue and the solution was. Had to use several hints on that one.

Ironically I didn't know the answer to the final solution, but could immediately see it from the available letters. It is usually the other way round where I know it but can't see it for the life of me without using hints.

Doh! Strolled through the x-word in 45 secs - probable my best ever - then completely didn't get the hint for the solution and had to use a hint to turn my mind in the right direction.

Was a bit fiddly today. We actually ran out of candy and had to blow out the candle in the pumpkin to try and stem the flow of trick and treaters!!! Had to dig in to the husband's supply of lunch packs of crisps, to keep it going!!! Busiest we have ever been - usually only get a couple of callers and lots of left overs for us selves... ;-)

Agree with comments on 2 down. Even after working out the answer I had to force myself to understand WHY that was the answer... Also spend a good 30 seconds trying to spell aluminium with the given letters before realising that in American English it isn't spelled right... ;-) Never mind though, I would still have got a terrible time!

Boo... Just started a new job and find that I can play the game, but not post my scores. Guess I'll either have to find something else to do on my lunch break if I want to post or have to restrict my posted results to the weekends. BTW all pretty managable today!

Hi Iowa, can I suggest you have a look at Grendel7's profile and read review from 13th July and on mine and read from 14th July. We both wrote a few hints on how we 'attack' the grid. Just click on our names next to a review on this page, then scroll down the page to the review section of the profile page. A bit cumbersome but they have dropped off the bottom of the review list on here.

Puh... Really struggled today! Fumbled easy answers, got stuck on 6 across as I thought of a different kind of horns and couldn't see the answer at all and to top it off I needed a hint on the solution as my American geography isn't THAT good. Only just sneaked it in at a x4 with a couple of seconds to go.

Chessy, I openly and honestly told that I had made a mistake and therefor had to restart and that my score would otherwise have been slower to see if that would be classed as cheating too. You are right, I could just have said nothing, but in my book that would have been more dishonest. I have stopped caring about Domde's ravings but I think it is a shame that we can not openly talk about times and reasons on this forum because of ONE poster's sour attitude.

Just came across this game. Posted a high score as no. 130 for the day. However I can only see 126-135 - so have no idea how well the top players do. Might not matter, but would like be able to see it. Is there a way?

Suzy, I completely disagree... I find the colours MUCH easier. They are so clearly different at a quick glance as opposed to the mass of black squiggles of the numbers. :-) Nice that this forum has lightened up!

I have never heard 3 down... And half the others stumped me even though I knew them. Not sure my new early morning job is doing my brain any favours! Even had to take a hint for the solution which was blindingly obvious once I kicked my brain into gear.

Sorry, did you assume I was claiming to have savant syndrome? I am not - just suggesting that there could be an honest explanation why somebody might be able to score 1:15 ish day after day on all levels. Sadly I am neither that good nor that consistant.

Domdedom, why have you got it in for me? I do not cheat, but you are of course entitled to think whatever you like. Unless you think that using the colour option is cheating - if so, I guess I do. But as that is a game option on SW, it is equally open to you and everybody else so I don't think you can call it cheating.

I suppose the players who are constantly setting amazing times could have savant syndrome. Rainman type abilities. You never know, so they might not be cheating at all...

tk72, you are absolutely right! I have only ever managed one sub 2 min score and was immediately branded as a cheat, but it is possible. I too though, have my doubts about the consistent sub 1:40 scorers.

I'm more or less with you Grendel, except that I tend to go through all the numbers quickly first, before doing the patterns and the lines or squares with the least numbers missing. The other thing I sometimes do on here is use the setting for colours rather than numbers as I find it easier to scan over the grid and see the different colours rather than the numbers. But I gather not everybody agrees - my sister in law hates using the colour option.

Oops - to back up that point I guess I'm incapable of spelling puzzle without getting censored. - Maybe you should be happy that your abilities are more use in the real world than mine and just let me be happy that I had achieved a good score. Or does being recently widowed mean that you can't be happy for others? Or what was your point with that comment?

Oh so now I am being told off for my language as well? Well I am sorry if I managed to do the ****le faster than you too. I still don't see why that makes me a cheat? Is it just that you are the fastest player in the world without cheating? Maybe you need to realise that there are players who are more gifted than others. On the other hand you can be happy that your grammar and spelling is better than mine. I don't accuse you of cheating for that reason.

Domdedom - sorry to disappoint, but I don't see the point in cheating. So my time was gainged in my first (and only) attempt and with no funny business. Much to my disappointment though, the time is not apperaring on my best times list??? Wonder if it is to do with the annoying way the high scores are totted up in seconds these days???

Well I can actually remember playing games before so it is really quite boring having to play them over again so Shockwave PLEASE sort this. I am a paying customer (not so much for sudoku as for other games but sudoku is one of my favourites) but I am getting really fed up and if this is not sorted I will not remain so.

Dont like the new on page format. For some reason it is really sluggish in responding when i click on the boxes to enter a number and I have to click several times for the number to appear. This is losing me lots of seconds. GRRR! Also dont like the distraction of all the surrounds which I would normally minimise when playing. Please can we return to pop-up format for sudoku. PLEASE!!!
