Psychopath Charles Dexter Ward has escaped from the asylum - your investigations lead you to Pawtuxet Island, where Ward grew up. Once peaceful and idyllic, it has now become a surreal, menacing place; the residents are either missing or dead - or are haunting the island in the guise of restless ghosts. As the story evolves, you begin to realize that it's not Ward you should fear the most.
